What a Christmas!!!
Phew, what a Christmas that was! Sorry I missed a couple of days of pre-Christmas celebration for work, I really missed out! Holden held out like a champ, having a cold and much to our surprise a new tooth! Yes that's right, our little mans fist tooth broke thru Christmas morning. I had been checking daily for signs of a budding tooth but didn't really see any. We just figured his slightly fussier moods were a result of having a pretty severe cold and how busy our holiday has been. I'm not sure why I decided to put my finger in his mouth when I did, but boy was I surprised to find something sharp in there! No wonder he wanted his binky! He was still surprisingly mellow over the weekend, mostly happy and was thrilled to see and meet so many of his relatives!
We had a great Christmas, spending it at 4 homes! We started with a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Aunt Amy's house, yay for salt and pepper green beans! We stayed late and Holden stayed up till we got in the car, then we think he was asleep within 2 minutes! He was so far gone when we got home, we got him out of the carseat, out of his rain coat and into his crib without waking him up! Christmas morning we woke up around 8 and got ready for a Christmas brunch at Grandma Alice's house. It felt great to be surrounded by so much family and we missed those who couldn't be there. Then it was off to Grandpa John and Grandma Jacie's for goodies and presents, Holden loooves all of his new toys! Thank you all for such great gifts. After a solid chunk of present opening time we had to scoot to my sister's house for Christmas dinner. Wow what a meal!
All in all Holden's first Christmas was a huge hit! He even helped open his presents. We want to thank you all again for helping make our Christmas wonderful.
Oh, and by the way...
Last week Holden had his checkup with his pediatrician and got a clean bill of health. Our little man has grown to a whopping 18 lbs and 13 oz and a length of 28 and a half inches! For a slightly premature boy these measurements are around the 90th to 97th percentile which means our Holden is growing beautifully. He got his immunizations and a flu shot which was highly recommended for this anticipated horrible flu season. Unfortunately we are having another Dr. appt today just to check Holdens cold, he's had it a little too long... We just want to make sure he is on the tail end and its not getting worse.
I will update again as soon as we get our camera, or sooner!
Love Erin
& Family
